Input Format

I filter used to display content in a desired fashion. When an authorized user or admin adds text to a Drupal site, Drupal catches the text entered by the user and saves it to the site’s database. Then, before displaying any such content live in a browser, Drupal will use an input format to format the text. This helps create consistency in text formatting across a website. What happens to user-entered text before it is shown in a web browser is determined by the input format applied. Filtered HTML and Full HTML are good examples of input formats that come built into Drupal.
