NID

Node ID. The unique identifier for each node. It can be found in the path to the node. For example, a node with path, “http://clothes.com/node/613”, has a NID of “613”. * Helpful TipNode ID’s by default are numbers, however to implement search engine friendly URL’s many people choose to use modules such as Path Alias to rename the path to something more reader friendly such as “http://clothes.com/shirts/red-shirts”.  Should you need to locate the original numerical node ID, log-in to the backend of your site, go to Content and locate within list of your site content the content you need the Node ID for.  Hover over the Edit link. The hyperlink displayed on the bottom left of your web browser will display the URL of the node in its original [node/number] form.
