Code Freeze

Code Freeze in a term that is used in the community development of the Drupal Core. It refers to the date at which no further additions are to be made to the core development. At the time of code freeze, effort will shift from adding functionalities to the core to cleaning up the code, fixing of bugs, and usability enhancements. At code freeze, the developers of contributed modules can be confident that the final code is in place and may begin modifying their modules to function properly within the new Drupal version.
